Menu Plan 03/30 - 04/06

It's almost April! Here's my menu plan for this week. We might be going out to dinner one night this week but it's good to have a plan, just in case.

Mon - Breakfast for Dinner
Tues - Ravioli in White Sauce
Wed - Hamburger w/Mixed Veggies
Thurs - Baked Mac and Cheese, Veggies
Fri - Beef Stroganoff
Sat - Leftover Buffet
Sun - Gary's night

Because words are never enough....

Victory!

It's done. Phewwwwwwwwww. I did it. I actually did it. Over spring break Gary and I actually got the PC room done. Man, it feels good. And the best part? We threw away just one garbage bag. All the other stuff was either sent to recycle, donated or re-purposed. How awesome is that?!

I'm uploading pics as we speak, so keep an eye out for them! I'm in the process of making the room look better and more inspiring. The organization, cleaning and overall completion is done. Wow, what a month.

Work in progress

After diligently working until 1am on the horrid computer room, we are left with this:

And to give you some perspective:

BEFORE

Maybe a few more days of organization and some creative decorating will turn this ugly duckling into a beautiful swam. Over dramatization? I think not!

To Do List:
  • Take down twin bed
  • Find cute little desk or table to use as a craft table
  • Organize plastic drawers
  • Redo curtains
  • Move wooden shelving to the right of the window
  • Add second tier to wooden shelving
  • Price out another metal shelving unit
  • Go through Gary's mountain of papers
  • Find a home for the "To File" basket
  • Think up an easy yet cute solution for a gift center
  • Shred, shred, shred
  • Find competent recycling centers
  • Find a home for all the handware/software boxes
  • Sort out stuffed animals to donate
  • to be edited as needed (help me!)

Ever have a craving...

...that you just couldn't get rid of until you find that one specific thing? Yeah, that's how I feel right now. Cupcakes. I need them. Now. I'm obsessing wanting one bad like you wouldn't believe!

Look at those cupcakes. Don't they look sooooo yummy! Those were from Bryan's birthday. They were delicious. They were moist, chocolatey and ohhh so fattening. Oh how I loved munching on them during CSI. Oh, how they called to me from my refrigerator morning, noon and night. Ohhhh the temptation!

That was over a month ago. The obsession want has surfaced again. Too bad we don't have many notable bakeries around here. So what else can I do but search the internet like a diligent little girl and find these awesome blogs that talk about cupcakes....and nothing else. No need for me to skip over the junk to get to the good stuff. The good stuff is the only thing it's composed of. Just like cupcakes.

Seriously! Could life get any better?! Wait, it could - if I only had my cupcake!

It's just one of those day...

Remember when the little things meant the most?

We've been kinda lazin' around today. Got up close to 9am, went to return some really dry cupcakes at around 11am, came home and just waited spent the remainder of the afternoon leading up to Bryan's nap doin' a whole bunch of nothin'. Productive, huh?

So I'm trying something new this week. My mission: make a week's worth of dinners from the pantry. Can it be done? Let's see what I have planned:

Monday - Creamy Chicken Mushroom, Asparagus, White/Brown Rice mix
Tuesday - Kalua Cabbage, White/Brown Rice mix
Wednesday - Teri Beef and Snow Peas Stir Fry, White/Brown Rice mix
Thursday - Country Fried Steak, Country Gravy, White/Brown Rice mix, Mixed Veggies
Friday - Chicken Pak Choi, White/Brown Rice mix
Saturday - Lamb and Grilled Zucchini, White/Brown Rice mix
Sunday - Gary's night

And for added measure, let's also add what we'll be having for snacks. Breakfasts and lunches for Bryan are usually left up to Grandma's care since he's with her most mornings.

Snacks:
  • cheese
  • pears
  • oranges
  • goldfish crackers
  • cheerios
  • graham crackers
  • apples
  • yogurt smoothies
  • animal crackers
  • blueberry muffins
Second mission of the week: Pass my HIST 284W mid-term. Wish me luck!

No water?!

Kohala Coast on the Big Island
an oldie but a goodie

A great day never starts off with something going wrong. Especially when that something has to do with not being able to brush your teeth (but don't fret over my morning breath! We went over to the in-laws house to use up all their hot water). Yep, we have no water here in Never Never Land. Something about a busted pipe. We now have the water department digging for gold out in my front yard (well, not really but ya know what I mean) while I'm supposed to be doing my Biology extra credit. We also have a very unattractive water dispenser thingy out there. And of course, I wanted to post pics ('cause every post is more attractive with pics) and actually went and took some just to realize that my memory card wasn't there! And I'm a lazy person. The stars aren't aligned for me today.

Speaking of Biology...
I took exam #3 today. Pretty interesting, if you ask me. Talk about thinking you know something only to hyperventilate when you realize you know NOTHING. Oh wait, isn't that what happens when you're a teenager and your parents tell you, "You think you know, but you have no idea". Ugh, I hate when they're right.

And in other news tonight...
How much money do you think I could save in my water bill from this water outage?

I'm itchin' ...

...to get rid of stuff and start organizing!

My two main areas, you ask?

These:
  • Computer Room
  • Extra Bedroom
Wait, you want to see pics? Really? No, I couldn't do that! I know these rooms (and myself included) would just die is shame! Oh the horror of it all!

But the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, right? Oh, ok....after months and months of closing the door when company comes a calling, here are the two rooms in all of their messy glory:

The computer room

The extra bedroom

Oh the horror! Oh the shame! Now I'm off to go cower in the corner while ya'll scream in fear then go study like I said I was...

Wish me luck in my organizational endeavor!

Ack!

These Hands...

Wow, haven't posted in here for a while. I've been reading tons and tons of blogs though!

Let's do a little list of what I've been reading pretty faithfully:

Now I'm off to study for my Biology exam (ACCCCKKKKKK!). Wish me luck and happy reading!
